Around 2004 I started writing what I thought would be a seventies folk-rock ‘album’. I’m not a fast worker as you’ll see.

Years later I daydreamed about a new project with co-conspirator Danny Evans and we began to write daft pop songs for other people to sing. Neither idea came to fruition and by 2007 my tracks gradually merged together to become the album you’re looking at now.

There are songs about a fictional 'girl next door' (Elsie), illness-induced delirium (Seagulls), prominent Leeds graffiti (Gina) and the pet rabbit (Mr B). It’s a bit rough ‘n’ ready and was made on a budget of next-to-nothing, with cheap mics and a pawn-shop portastudio. It's definitely the work of a younger man (mid twenties) and I wouldn't write lyrics like these nowadays, nor music like this I suspect.

Despite its shortcomings, this record represents the hard work and generosity of my friends and so it’s only right that it should see the light of day all these years later. I’m very grateful for their contributions and you can assume that the good bits are them and the less good bits are me. (Pete, 2021)
